My dream home office.

My dream home office

My first day at Pinterest I fell in love with this home office. Now I'm working to reproduce  this beautiful place at my home. It has been quite some work. My first buy was THE RUG. After a lot of searching,  I was very lucky to find it at Amazon.com for a great price.

Chandra Rugs Amy Butler Georgia Rug 5' x 7'6.

Then!!! Let's go shopping for furniture. This Armoire was perfect and on sale at Craigslist for $90.00.  Very good for Texas, because here the girls go crazy for great pieces to        refurbish, and this makes the price go really high.

Deciding the color was not easy. I was firm that I wanted the same look as the original picture, and the same color code used in the original picture was too green when I painted it. You can see it in the pic below.

So I tried other codes and this is what I got

after several samples!!!! In  my eyes and taste this was the closest I could get to the original pic.

Here is the final work on the Armoire.
Ps: to be continued

I'm Elaine, I am 38, but thanks to God I feel like I am 25. Working from home has been a challenge, especially with little ones.  I have Tristan, 8; Mia, 6; and SJ my 2 year old co-worker and my great helper.  Soon he will doing the ads for me.

When we discovered I was expecting SJ, I decided to stay at home and raise the kids.  The first year was definitely a huge adjustment to change from running my own business for 15 years to running after the kids. I was so used to the business and work environment that at times I thought I may not make it.

Day by day I learned to be a Mother.

Last year, I decided I needed to earn money again. That began my search.  I had done networking before, but it did not work so it was not on my list.  I love to cook and bake, thinking that baking is my passion; I love to make cakes, but it is hard to make money (Big Money) with cakes. I had tried distribution of swim suits from my native Brazil; shoes online; wedding dresses; and purses and perfumes.  I love refurbishing furniture.  I even tried out starting a babysitting service.  I looked at working in industries new to me such as real estate and retail ( I love clothes).

But my search made me realize I need to be able to work from home and not need a major investment of time or money.

Thank God I found what I was looking for.  It is perfect for me.  I have my own business, I am my own boss, and on my own time.  I just need 30 minutes a day.  That is it. I get it all--good money, work from home, and now I do all of the above for fun!
